The annual TI Retiree Luncheon this year recognized not one, not two, but three anniversaries. The theme was "Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of TXN (listing of the TI stock), the Texans Credit Union and the Texins Association." It was held on Thursday, November 14, at the Mesquite Convention Center with updates on TI's business trends by Kevin March.
Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines last week resulting in thousands of deaths in central Philippines, with more than 650,000 people displaced. An international appeal has been issued by the Philippines, and a relief fund has been established by the American Red Cross.
Although TI facilities and employees in Baguio and Clark were not affected, TI is among the companies leading efforts to raise support.
The TI Foundation will make an immediate $100,000 contribution to the American Red Cross Typhoon Relief Fund for Philippines disaster relief.
TI retiree Dot Adler was honored with the 2012 Dallas County Council of Republican Women’s Anita Hill Lifetime Achievement Award Dec. 4.
The award recognized Dot’s more than 50 years of volunteer work for the GOP in Dallas County and is named for the late State Representative Anita Hill of Garland. The council is an umbrella group composed of the county’s 15 federated Republican women’s clubs.
Gary Stopani is the TI Alumni Association 2012 Community Involvement Volunteer of the Year.
A TIAA member since he retired from TI in 2008, Gary is the immediate past TIAA treasurer and helped produce the TIAA Cookbook whose proceeds benefit the United Way.
George Consolver brings over four decades of Texas Instruments leadership experience to his volunteer job as
TI Alumni Association president.
A native of Wichita, KS, George completed a bachelor’s degree in math and physics at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, attending on an academic and football scholarship.
George joined TI in 1968 in Dallas as a software engineer in Military Computer Systems, where he developed software for the U.S. Navy Satellite Radio Navigation System SRN-9.
