TIAA Travel

Feb 1, 2016

Regardless of what some people say, the hard-working TIAA Travel & Events (T&E) subcommittee’s goal is not to eat our way across Texas. Nor is it to have the most fun and the loudest meetings. (One TIAA president found our meeting just by following the sound of laughter.)

However, we do believe the old adage that “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Therefore, T&E promotes this positive attitude by arranging opportunities to experience new adventures normally within 100 miles of the Metroplex – things we couldn’t do while we were employed.

In 2015, T&E arranged 18 day trips, enjoyed by around 300 participants. Last year these included such varied areas as sports venues and games, a zoo, museums, performance halls and various performances, shopping, weather forecasting, Indian reservations and a police headquarters tour. In our surveys, participants indicate that social interaction among TI alumni – and the various restaurants we visited – added a lot of enjoyment to their lives – as well as a lot of laughs.

We already have plans for many more events in 2016 (and who knows what else might pop up during the year?)  Please click on Travel Calendar to see our upcoming, exciting trips; we’d love to have you join us.
