Texins Jazz Band (formerly The Texas Instruments Jazz Band) will host one of the finest trumpet players in the world – Wayne Bergeron. The concert is Monday, May 1st, 7:00pm at Lovejoy High School. Both the Lovejoy Jazz Band and the Texins will perform with Wayne. Proceeds benefit the Lovejoy Band Booster Club.
If you don’t know Wayne Bergeron by name, you’ve heard his playing on a large number of recordings, movies, and TV shows. He is one of the most in demand players in the world, so don’t miss this chance to hear him in person.
Texins Jazz Band formed in 1986 after an ad was placed in the Dallasite newspaper that said “Jazz musicians wanted for big band.” They are now in their 37th year of operation, with a good number of active, former, and retired TI employees in the group.
Lovejoy High School is at 2350 Estates Parkway in Lucas, TX – just on the eastern edge of Allen.
