The limit for matching gifts is $30,000 per year with a minimum of $25 per gift. Your favorite 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, as well as schools, colleges and universities, are eligible for a match with exceptions noted below. The minimum number of hours for volunteer matching grants is 10 hours with one organization, and the maximum annual volunteer matching grant is 80 hours/$1,000.
Certain charitable organizations are ineligible for a match and include churches/houses of worship, private foundations, lobbying and social organizations. You can find a complete list of ineligible organizations on the http://getinvolved.ti.comwebsite.
Donations made to United Way/partner agencies are not matched automatically. You must register these gifts on the matching gifts website like all other donations. The Giving and Volunteer team will be sending a reminder with instructions in early January.
If you make recurring donations (i.e., United Way, KERA, St. Jude Children’s Hospital), you can combine gift amounts and submit one match request at year end. Please total amounts given throughout the year to an organization and use the last gift date when submitting the request.
Donations made through a donor advised fund or a fundraising platform (i.e. Facebook, GoFundMe, PayPal, etc.) should be submitted for the recipient charitable organization (if eligible).
