The University of Texas at Dallas Retiree Association and The Texas Instruments Alumni Association will host a joint meeting on Thursday, March 15, at 1:00 pm at the Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center. We'll begin with refreshments and social time, followed by our speaker at 1:30 pm.
The Alumni Center is one of the newest buildings on the UTDallas Campus and this will be an opportunity to tour the facility and also see the progress on the campus. Bus transportation will be provided from the Texins Activity Center on the Expressway Site, leaving at 12:30 pm and returning by 3:00 pm.
Our speaker will be Cassini Nazir, Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication at The University of Texas at Dallas where he teaches classes in interaction design. He is also Director of Design and Research for the ArtSciLab, a transdisciplinary research lab helping the arts, science, and technology communities by pursuing initiatives of societal urgency and cultural timeliness. Over the past 20 years, Cassini has designed print pieces, logos, websites, and interactive elements for mobile, tablet and desktop devices. Cassini holds an MFA in Arts and Technology and bachelor’s degrees in English literature and Economics.
In his presentation, Cassini Nazir will focus on the role of design in the creation of digital experiences, which has become increasingly important. This talk will explore how designers shape meaning using examples from UT Dallas students and faculty, and tug at a few of the invisible threads that designers use to weave meaningful and enjoyable experiences.
