Marc Blaine Shepherd passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30,2024 just a few weeks shy of his 70th birthday, after a short stay in hospice care in Dallas, Texas.

He was surrounded by family. Despite a long and brave fight against diabetes, Marc ultimately succumbed to the numerous challenges offered by that insidious disease. He was born at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas on September 24, 1954, to parents Mary Alice Murchland Shepherd and Mark Shepherd, Jr., both deceased. Marc grew up in Dallas and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School in 1973. After attending Texas Tech University, he graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1983.

Marc had a passion for technology and worked his entire career at Texas Instruments until his retirement. He married Teresa Turner Hiser, on the fifth day of October in 1999. She had children from a previous marriage and together they created a blended family. After his retirement, Marc and Teresa enjoyed traveling the world together creating cherished memories, especially on cruises. Teresa passed away in October 2021, shortly after their 22nd wedding anniversary. Marc had numerous passions and hobbies. In addition to traveling, he greatly enjoyed golf and was known to have spent hours on the driving range. Quick to smile, he was renowned for his quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed holidays with his family and had a special knack for spoiling his pets.Marc is survived by sister, Debra Shepherd Robinson, and her husband, Rowland King Robinson of Dallas, Texas and sister Marykay Shepherd of Quitman Texas. He is also survived by nieces and nephew: Kate Robinson Swail (Dallas Texas), Brooke Robinson Howe (Austin Texas) and Shepherd King Robinson and wife Hillary (Austin Texas). Marc’s surviving stepchildren are Nikki and husband, Tye Kinnibrugh, Billy J. Hiser and wife, Heather, Andrea Sian, and husband, Alan. Marc will be interred at the Shepherd Family plot at the Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. There will be a small graveside service at eleven a.m. on Friday, September 13th.
