2015 TIAA Golf Tournament Set for October 19

Aug 6, 2015

TIAA is teaming up again with active TIers for the 16th Annual TIAA Charity Golf Tournament. The event is scheduled for Monday, October 19, at the Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie, TX. It will benefit two worthwhile charities – the United Way and The Senior Source. Texas Instruments and the Texans Credit Union are underwriters for the tournament, making it possible for 100% of donations to go directly to the charities.

More than 100 golfers are expected to participate. Golfers will check in beginning at 10:00 am, with a shot-gun start at 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:00 am, with awards following the tournament.

Combined Tournament

For several years, TIers have held a golf tournament as a kickoff to the United Way Campaign, and donations by active TI golfers will again benefit that worthwhile organization. Contributions from individual retirees, former TIers, TIAA golfers and sponsors will go to The Senior Source. Another benefit of the combined tournament is the opportunity for TIAA members to get better acquainted with active TI golfers and let them know about TIAA and its programs.

Over the past years, the tournament has raised more than $350,000 for charities, thanks to the generosity of individual donors, corporate sponsors, and golfers. The Senior Source, now in its 54th year of service to older adults in our community, is experiencing increased needs for its services, which include vital programs in protection, eldercare, advocacy, volunteer opportunities and employment services for seniors.

How to Participate

Retirees and former TIers are encouraged to help support this year’s tourney, whether golfers or not. Sponsorships are available for golf holes and carts. There are also opportunities for volunteers to help in contacting corporate sponsors or helping with the tournament logistics. Please contact the TIAA office at 214-567-8444 for information on volunteer opportunities.

A golfer registration form and a donation form are available online or by contacting the TIAA office at 214-567-8444.
