Our work day shall consist of assembling, preparing, and packing 25 lb. emergency food boxes to be distributed in the drive-thru pantry. Once boxes are packed, a few members of our team will load boxes on a cart and deliver them to clients waiting in the parking lot. Most of the volunteer work will be inside the air-conditioned warehouse.
We are pleased to finally be able to resume our Community Involvement volunteer projects and we plan to conduct a volunteer event each month from now on. Please register your plans to attend the CCS volunteer work day by logging onto our website. Our registration shall be limited to 14 volunteers.
In order to comply with the Senior Source transportation protocols all volunteers will be asked to:
- Be vaccinated against Covid-19;
- Wear a mask for the duration of the volunteer activity;
- Wash hands and/or sanitize your hands frequently; and
- Self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and follow the requirements for screening and reporting noted on the self-screening form (to be provided) that must be signed at time of van boarding
CCS requires volunteers to wash their hands before entering the warehouse, wear protective gloves, wear a cover/mask face/nose area, and practice the recommended social distancing of six feet apart.
We look forward to having a most enjoyable day serving CCS clients and we look forward to seeing you.
CCS has also asked TIAA to announce to our members that they have a dire need for ongoing volunteers to deliver emergency food boxes to clients unable to show up at the CCS warehouse. If you would be interested in this individual volunteer program and have a large sedan, van, or pickup truck please contact Greg Boydston at g-boydston@sbcglobal.net for further information. CCS thanks anyone that could volunteer one or more times.
