The 2016 annual meeting to elect officers for the TI Alumni Association will be held at RFAB, TI’s wafer fab facility in Richardson. It is the world's most advanced facility for analog chip manufacturing. The meeting on May 26 will begin at 1:30 pm with a reception and refreshments in the RFAB’s new conference center. The business meeting will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by comments from Tom Weichel, Manager of RFAB, who will also give a brief update on TI. After his presentation, attendees will be treated to a special video presentation by Sharon Hudgens, which explains the buildup of the facility and its importance to TI.
Following the presentations, there will be optional tours of the viewing hall of RFAB production, and displays in the Innovation Center, which highlight some of the current applications of TI’s technology. TIAA held a meeting in RFAB in 2006 in the early days of its startup, but there is no comparison now to the highly automated facility in full production.
Attendance for the meeting is limited to current TIAA members and a guest. For any TI Retirees or former TIers, who are not members, this would be a good time to join by clicking on Join Now in the upper right corner. If you have been a TIAA member in the past, but your membership has lapsed, this would also be an opportunity to renew your membership.
Election of Officers: As called for in TIAA's Bylaws, Larry James, TIAA President, appointed a Nominating Committee consisting of George Consolver, Lewis McMahan, Kate Newman and Max Post to recommend officers for the upcoming fiscal year from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The Nominating Committee has recommended the following TIAA members for election: Gary Stopani, President; Greg Boydston, Executive Vice President, Kate Newman, Treasurer; and Dorothy McAllister, Secretary. All have agreed to serve if elected. Nominations from the floor will be accepted prior to the vote at the meeting
Registration: Click here to register for the TIAA Annual Meeting. If you haven’t set up an account, do this first, using your employee number and a password. In your registration, be sure to include the name of anyone attending with you. We will need this to facilitate check-in and name badges. You may wear your retiree badge if desired, but it is not required. Please register as early as possible, but no later than May 18.
Directions: RFAB is located at 300 W. Renner Road in Richardson. If you are driving on North Central Expressway, exit on Renner Road and go West, past Alma Road. You will turn into the entrance with the Texas Instruments sign, then after a short distance, turn right into the parking lot – then come into the Lobby for check-in and name tags, and we will be escorted in groups to the second-floor Conference Center. An elevator is available, if needed.
We will run a bus from the Texins Activity Center. The bus will leave Texins at 1:00 pm. Tours will conclude around 3:30 pm and the bus will depart at that time. If you plan to ride the bus, you will need to make a reservation by checking the box for bus when you register online. If you are unable to register online, call the TIAA office at 214-567-8444 and leave a message with your name and the name of anyone attending with you and whether you plan to ride the bus or drive.
