TIAA Annual Meeting on May 25, 2017 to Highlight Contributions of TI Founders to Dallas

The TIAA Annual Meeting will be held on May 25 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. at the recently restored 7th Floor of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young St. in Dallas. Refreshments will be provided and buses will run at 12:30 pm from the Texins Activity Center on the Expressway Site. Free parking will be available in the Library’s parking garage for those who wish to drive. (Use the entrance on Wood Street.)

Dallas Public Library genealogist Ari Wilkins will talk about some of the special treasures to be found at the library. She’ll focus on the collections and resources of the Dallas History & Archives and the Genealogy & History divisions, with particular emphasis on what’s available for researching family history and the contributions of the TI Founders to the City of Dallas and its institutions.

During the business meeting, the report of the Nominating Committee will be presented, recommending the following as officers for TIAA for the next year, beginning July 1: Gary Stopani, President; Greg Boydston, Executive VP; David Reid, Treasurer; and Dorothy McAllister, Secretary.

Following the business meeting to elect officers, there will be an opportunity view a rare printed copy of The Declaration of Independence, one of only a few known to be in existence. Tours will be available for the rare books collection on the 7th Floor, and the Genealogy Section on the 8th Floor.

Admission, parking, and bus transportation are all free.
