“Starting Anew” by Rose-Mary Rumbley

Jan 22, 2020

Rose-Mary Rumbley, noted speaker-actress-Dallasite, entertained 30 TIAA members and friends in the S/C Lobby Auditorium on January 21, 2020.  (She also let us in on a secret — her outstanding elocution abilities made her one of the voices used in TI's very successful Speak & Spell educational toy in the late '70s.) She reviewed the eight U.S. Presidents who died while in office and how our nation had to react to the circumstances when the president could not complete his term and was succeeded by their vice-president, who had "zero" responsibilities up until then.   Each time one of these tragedies occurred the nation had to adapt and "start anew" — perhaps using Rose-Mary's favorite motto to "Rise, Stabilize and Mobilize".
