Community Crossroads Services Event, January, 2015

May 2, 2018

CCS is the first agency in the nation to match the amount of food provided from each food group with an individual’s age, gender, and activity level. Client families leave Crossroads’ in-house pantry or one of their Community Distribution Partners with a variety of nutritious foods including lots of fresh produce that provide the foundation for preparing 21 balanced meals per person. On average, a family of four receives 100 lbs of groceries. In 2013, Crossroads provided 2.366 million pounds of food for 14,500 individuals, enough for approximately 2 million meals. TIAA volunteers helped clients pick out clothing, distribute groceries to clients, and helped restock clothing and food storage rooms. Then we enjoyed lunch afterward at a restaurant downtown before returning to Texins.
