There were 56 entries in nine categories in this year's competition. The 36 participating artists included active TIers, retirees, contractors, and their spouses.The winners of the 2014 On My Own Time Art Exhibition were announced at the Artists’ Reception & Awards Ceremony at the Texins Activity Center on August 15. The Best of Show award was won by TIAA's Ted Houston for his work on canvas, "We're Still Here". The People's Choice award was won by Nima Shahidi for his ceramic bowl, "Firouzeh". A total of 275 votes were cast online and 83 paper ballots were collected at Texins during the exhibition. The ribbons were presented by Terri Grosh, recently named Employee Engagement Manager for TI. In her comments, Terri thanked the artists for their participation and for the inspiration of their work.
