TIAA members will visit this new, one-of-a-kind park which creates a green space “out of thin air”, connects Uptown, downtown and the Dallas Arts District and offers a wonderful way to experience the Dallas skyline.  This 5-acre park is built over a recessed eight-lane freeway and is covered with natural, sustainable landscape including 322 trees.  One of TI’s founders, J. Erik Jonsson, really made this park possible in the 1960s when, as Dallas’ mayor, he decided to recess the Woodall Rodgers freeway.  Public-private funds finished the job in 2012. We will leave at 10:30 am, roam around the park, walk the trails, eat on your own at a variety of food trucks beginning at 11 or at the Relish or Savor restaurants, attend the weekly speaker series at 12:15 pm, leave at 1:30.  Cost is $7 for members and $8 for nonmembers.
