March 12, Dolphin Heights Community Garden–Full Moon Planting!
Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Dallas. We will return to the Dolphin Heights Community near Fair Park where we will help Willie Hall and Anna Hill plant the sustainable community garden that will produce watermelon, cantaloupe, eggplant, hot and mild peppers and herbs this summer. Anna Hill, Neighborhood Association President, Founder of the garden and Organizer/Teacher/Mentor of the Dolphin Heights after school program and Willie, retired Medical Examiner at Parkland, will share more stories with us about history of Dallas and what we can do to help local communities like Dolphin Heights. Come give some time weeding/pruning, planting, turning compost or helping repair the garden fencing as well as learn a few gardening tips while there!  The work will be paced and we’ll have lots of breaks plus some easy tasks.  We will leave Texins at 8:30 a.m. on a bus supplied by The Senior Source and have lunch nearby (at our own expense) before returning to Texins about 1:30 p.m.
