The greens are the stars at the Dolphin Heights Community Garden in East Dallas, which for almost 16 years has been championed by a woman affectionately known as the Mayor of Dolphin Heights. "I got that name actually from Mayor (Mike) Rawlings," said Anna Hill, the longtime neighborhood association president. When she moved to the neighborhood in the mid-1980s there was "lots of criminal activity," she said.  She and a couple of other residents eventually decided it was time to take back the neighborhood. They formed the Dolphin Heights Neighborhood Association with Hill as president.

Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 8:30 am. We will help Anna Hill hoe, till, and rake the community garden to prepare for planting vegetables afterwards.  Bring gloves, hat, and sun screen.  Effort required will be moderate. Anna will provide tools. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Fitness Center around 1:30 pm.  Please register online for this event. We need all to register in order to have sufficient transportation for all.

Important – Covid19 safety requirements apply.  Must be vaccinated to ride the Senior Source van.  Venue requires volunteers to wear mask and social distance as possible.
