Wilkinson Center is a dynamic service provider for families struggling to escape poverty, providing services throughout Dallas County, with a focus in East and Southeast Dallas including Pleasant Grove. Wilkinson Center’s vision is to eliminate generational poverty by addressing clients’ most significant issues: basic human necessities (food and shelter), education and employment. We will work in the food pantry distribution center. Our work day will consist of restocking food shelves, pushing grocery carts through the pantry aisles while filling it with canned, dry, and frozen food items, and assisting the Wilkinson Center staff in any other duties needed.
Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 8:30 am. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at our own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Fitness Center by approximately 1:30 pm. Please register online for this event. We need all to register in order to have sufficient transportation for all.
Please note that Covid-19 protocol will be required on the transportation van and at the volunteer venues (normal temperature range, wear a mask, sanitize hands, socially distance as able, etc.). Most venues require volunteers to sign forms attesting to Covid-19 free symptoms.
