Crossroads Community Services officially moved from their former location on Young Street to the Pollock Campus off Cockrell Hill Road, which is the former location of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). From their new home, they are serving as the southern regional hub for NTFB and expanding their food distribution program.

In 2018, Crossroads distributed approximately 2.25 million pounds of food, and in 2019 Crossroads will be distributing at least three times that amount (close to 7 million pounds). In 2019 they will be distributing food to approximately 100 other organizations who will use it to nourish families in their communities and will expand into Ellis and Navarro counties for the first time.

At their location on Young Street, their pantry and food distribution program took place in about 5,000 square feet of space, and at the Pollock Campus, they are using approximately 75,000 – about 15 times the square footage! The loading docks at the Pollock Campus make it much easier to load and unload food, simplifying pick up and drop off for their partners.

Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 8:30 am. TIAA Volunteers will assist Crossroads “neighbors” in selecting grocery items and/or helping in the clothing distribution area.  Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Fitness Center by 1:30 pm.  Please register your attendance by logging onto TIAlumni.org and click on the event’s name from the “Calendar” tab then fill out your registration information. We need all to register in order to have sufficient transportation for all.
