This musical is a happy-go-lucky view of small-town vice and statewide political side-stepping which recounts the good times and the demise of the Chicken Ranch, known since the 1850s as one of the better pleasure palaces in all of Texas. Governors, senators, mayors, and even victorious college football teams frequent Miss Mona’s cozy bordello until Miss Mona finds her business suddenly under attack from a television evangelist and local politicians, with even the local sheriff unable to do much to stop the sudden switch in public opinion. We will leave on a bus at 10:00 am, eat lunch in Granbury (on our own) in one of the restaurants on the square, watch General Granbury’s birthday parade down main street, shop a little and then attend the matinee at 2:00 pm.  We should be back around 5:30 and the cost will be $30 for members and $33 for nonmembers.
