Wow, 30 flavors of ice cream???

Just what we need on a hot summer day is an ice cream crank-off!  Let’s tease and tantalize our taste buds by sampling creative flavors of homemade ice creams at the 22nd Annual Ice Cream Crank-Off in McKinney, TX.  Past flavors have included all types of fruits, syrups, candies, gummy bears and even Fritos corn chips!  No TIAA registration necessary – just drive to McKinney in your car and you’ll run into some of us around 1:00 at the Chestnut Square Historic Village (315 S. Chestnut Street). Sampling begins at noon and continues to 3:00 or until the ice cream is all gone!  Purchase a $15 wristband and you can taste to your hearts content plus visit the Ice Cream Freezer Museum inside the Visitor’s Center and see around 500 antique freezers.

Lots of things to see and do, too (some require tickets in order to participate) such as pony rides, balloon artistry, face painting, kids’ games, a petting zoo, a magic show, kids’ crafts or tour a blacksmith shop.
