If you were in your closet on December 26 when tornadoes roared through the Metroplex, you might have been comforted to know that the Dallas emergency staff were on the job. They had gathered in the Emergency Operations Center at Dallas City Hall on that devastating Saturday to monitor the storms and offer aid to areas within the city that suffered damage. Whether it’s a tornado, flood, dam breakage, hazardous incident, terrorist activity or pandemic, the city has a plan and is prepared to act, according to Kevin Oden, Dallas assistant emergency management coordinator. Oden, a Certified Emergency Manager, will explain how that works when TIAA tours the EOC.  We will climb on a DART bus and leave TI at 10 am, enjoy the hour-long tour and eat at the Bridge Bistro in the Dallas Design District (so bring lunch money) before returning to TI around 1:30 pm. There is no cost for this event. Please register below for this event. You must be logged in to the website to register.
