Weather forecasting – science or art? Let’s take a 60-minute, guided tour of the Southern Regional NWS office and find out how they make these decisions that affect our plans for the weekend. They provide weather, hydrologic and climate forecasts and warnings for the entire United States, its territories and adjacent waters and ocean areas – a big job! The office is handicapped-accessible but no bags, packages or purses are allowed in the building. (Unfortunately, tours may be cancelled on short notice due to severe weather but we’ll reschedule if that happens.) We will eat at Flip's Patio Grill (at our own expense.) Cost is $20 for members and $22 for nonmembers.
