Join us as we visit the SMU Meadow’s Museum (which is handicapped accessible).  They are observing their 50th anniversary with one of the most important exhibitions in their history.  For more than 500 years, the Alba family has collected art, and they are graciously allowing more than 130 works from their multimillion dollar private collection to leave Spain for the very first time.  We will see paintings by Titian, Goya, Rubens, Rembrandt, Ingres, Renoir and many more.  We will also view the heart of their collection, a painting by Fra. Angelico called The Virgin of the Pomegranate, circa 1426, which is rarely displayed in public; and Texas will be its first USA visit.   A docent will guide us to explain this beautiful art in an hour-long tour.  We will leave at 4:30 pm, be awed by the art beginning at 5 pm, eat at Amore Italian Restaurant (bring dinner money) and return around 8 pm.  This wonderful, educational experience includes transportation and admission to the museum at $16 for members and $18 nonmembers.
