Please join us at the Texins Activity Center to board a Senior Source bus to volunteer for service at the Shoes for Orphan Souls warehouse. We will help organize, pack, and shelve shoes for distribution to the organization’s clients. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Activity Center about 1:30 pm. Please register for this event by logging onto the TIAA website “Community Involvement” tab – “Volunteer Calendar” – and clicking on this event and then on “Event Registration Page”.
Shoes for Orphan Souls®, located at 5405 Shoe Drive Mesquite, Texas 75149, is the largest humanitarian aid project of Buckner International. They provide new shoes and socks to orphans and vulnerable children in the United States and throughout the world. From conducting shoe drives to humanitarian aid trips, Shoes for Orphan Souls offers hands-on opportunities to individuals, groups and organizations wanting to transform lives. Since 1999, more than 2.5 million pairs of new shoes and socks have been distributed to children in 76 countries.
