Equest, located in Wylie, Texas, provides therapeutic sports horse riding classes and Hippotherapy to over 150 clients every week. Founded in 1981, it has become one of the largest non-profit therapeutic riding centers in the state. They serve children and adults with all types of physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. The Coventry Reserve, located in St. Paul, Texas, is a distinctive day program for adults with special needs that offers life enrichment opportunities, creative activities and therapeutic programs.
TIAA members will board a bus supplied by The Senior Source departing the Texins Activity Center at 8:30 am. We will stop for lunch (at our own expense) between the two locations. Note that this will not involve physical activity by those attending but, instead, is a tour of the two agencies to learn how they provide therapeutic client services. We plan to return to Texins Activity Center by about 3:00 pm.
