The World Vision Storehouse provides free school supplies to teachers in schools that serve low-income families. Teachers can obtain teaching aids and books, binders, backpacks, pencils, art supplies, and posters. They may also find educational toys and games that can be used as incentives for stellar schoolwork or good behavior. Thanks to The Storehouse, teachers in participating schools don’t have to dig into their own wallets or watch their students go without educational supplies. Schools in which 70 percent or more students qualify for subsidized meals qualify to use the center. In Dallas, over 50% of schools fall into that category. TIAA members will sort materials and help fill orders. We will leave the Texins Activity Center at 8:45 am on a bus supplied by The Senior Source and have lunch nearby (at our own expense) before returning by about 1:45 pm.
