Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Veterans Resource Center provides a first point of contact for veterans needing to connect to resources for employment, education, healthcare, and transportation.  The Center provides day resources to homeless veterans for showers and laundry and will partner with other agencies to provide transitional housing.  The Center also provides a safe environment for homeless female veterans.  TIAA members will assist the VA Resource Center staff in sorting clothing and personal hygiene items and in stocking the food and clothing storage facilities.  We have scheduled two opportunities for volunteers at the VA Resource Center – May 7 and June 4.  Please join us at the Texins Activity Center during one or both days at 8:30 am for transportation on a bus supplied by The Senior Source.  After completing our volunteer assignments we will have lunch nearby (at our own expense) before returning to Texins by about 1:30 pm.
