We stocked up on locally grown “jewels of the summer“ (ripe peaches), fat blueberries, red tomatoes, etc. before enjoying a hamburger and peach ice cream cone in their outdoor pavilion.

A trip was taken to the Quality Hill neighborhood in Fort Worth to visit two historic mansions. These are large, opulently restored examples of the Georgian Revival architectural style.

TIAA Members attended this rousing concert at the Granville Arts Center in Garland on August 17, 2012. The Rankin Brothers Classic Music Revue had impersonations, tributes, and comedy and featured classics from Rock-n-Roll, Country, Folk, and Gospel genres. 

We wondered what the state-of-the- art, 1.1 million-square-foot, 300-mm wafer fab complex looked like  now that it is operational so we arranged for a walking tour of the first wafer fab facility to receive Gold LEED designation. 

TIAA members and guests went on a private tour of D/FW’s  Administration Building,  watched an interactive display of hundreds of flights all over the world, learned about security problems, and then visited the Fire and Police Stations.

Our members discovered the compelling human stories told through hundreds of authentic artifacts along with recreations of the ship's interior at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.

TIAA members explored 205 acres of a pristine forest ecosystem and watched lots of bird feeders. This is a wild and special place where plant species from North, South, East, and West mingle together, attracting birds and other animals.
