Leadership Team

Leaders of TIAA

The Leadership Team is in charge of the TIAA Alumni Association. It is comprised of the four elected officers, the immediate past President, and those officers appointed by the President. The four elected officers, who serve one-year terms (terms are effective as of July 1), are the President, the Executive Vice President, the Treasurer, and the Secretary. There are currently five appointed officers: the Activities Vice President, the Chief Information Officer, the Communications Vice President, the Education Vice President, and the Membership Development Vice President. The Leadership Team generally meets as a body every month to conduct its business.

Nancy Little

Nancy Little joined TI in 1984 after graduating from Colorado School of Mines with a Metallurgical Engineering degree.  She worked her entire 36 years in the Semiconductor division before retiring this past December 2020.  She plans to spend more time with her family and friends and travel when it safely opens back up.  She loves the people and culture of TI and is excited to continue to be involved through involvement in the TI Alumni Association. Nancy was the Implant/Epi Engineering Section Manager in RFAB when she retired after 36 years at TI.

Mary Helmick

Mary Helmick

Executive Vice President

Mary Helmick recently retired from Texas Instruments Incorporated, one of the world’s leading electronics companies focused on advanced semiconductor technologies after a 30-year career.  Mary worked in various positions in the Standard Linear and Logic Packaging Group, ultimately managing the organization.  She has since held management positions in the Sherman Wafer Fabrication Facility and the DLP™ Products Organization.  She was Quality Director for DLP and Director of Strategy and Program Management for TI’s Analog business. Mary attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.  After two years of work in the automotive industry, she completed a Master of Science degree in Computer Integrated Design and Manufacturing at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Outside of work, Mary has volunteered for BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) since 1993.  She is currently serving on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer of Best of Texas Robotics, Inc.

Christie Rambin

Secretary

Christie is from Tyler, TX, and joined TI in 1984 after graduating from Baylor University with a BME and an MBA.  She held various roles in accounting, finance, and capital planning across the Semiconductor division, before departing TI in 2000 to spend time at home with her three young children.  Christie returned to TI in 2005 and again focused on accounting and finance opportunities.  She retired from her role as WW HR Finance Manager in 2022 with a cumulative 32 years of service.  In retirement, Christie has kept herself busy by running marathons, volunteering, earning her real estate license, and traveling.  She is excited to become more involved in TIAA as she highly values the positive impact the organization has on both the community at large and all its members.

Bob Rifkin

Treasurer

Bob is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. Heobtained a BS degree in industrial engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon University. He joined Texas Instruments as part of the Control Management Program in 1976. During his 44-year TI career, Bob held positions including controller of the Standard Linear and Logic entity and manager of TI Financial Reporting. His last TI assignment was in Treasury. Bob retired from TI in 2020, a few months after the offices closed due to COVID.
