Crossroads Community Services
4500 S Cockrell Hill Rd., Dallas, TX 75236
Crossroads Community Services is located off Cockrell Hill Road, which is the former location of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). From their new 75,000 sq. ft. home, they are serving as the southern regional hub for NTFB and expanding their food distribution program. Crossroads fulfills its mission through their programs and services. They provide nutritious food into the hands of low-income neighbors through their distribution network and in-house pantry. They also are changing the way people think of hunger and hunger solutions by providing supportive education to the general public and to the clients served. Last year, they distributed 1.6 million pounds of food to over 51,000 people throughout the 18 zip codes they serve.
Our TIAA volunteers will fill boxes with nonperishable food items for later distribution to clients. We may also be asked to help clients fill their grocery carts, restock shelves with boxes and canned goods, and/or sort items looking for past-due dates. Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 7:45 am for transportation to CCS. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Fitness Center around 1:30 pm. Please register online for this event. We need all to register in order to have sufficient transportation for all.
