Carlyn Ray Studios is a place where professional artists and glassblowers create beautiful glass art, including Ray’s signature “weaving” pieces. But it’s also a place of community, where people of all ages can learn how glass is made and even try their hand at it.

They will demonstrate the process of glassblowing. Sand is heated to the temperature of lava, the hottest material on earth, until it becomes molten. It is then shaped by the artist’s breath or, as Ray puts it, “shaped through the love of the creator, and the act of creation is a dance.”

We each get the opportunity to try our hand at making our own Christmas ornament in this class.We will leave at 3:00 pm. The class will begin at 4:00 pm and is approximately 2 hours long. We should be back around 7:00 pm. The cost is $95 each.  Please register online for this event.

Attire

Close-toed shoes are required. We recommend wearing comfortable, natural fiber clothing (cotton), and nothing too flowy. Shirts, shorts, etc. are fine.  In cooler weather, we recommend wearing layers as it will still be warm inside.
