TI Retiree Luncheon

The Annual TI Retiree Luncheon will be held November 10, in person, at the Mesquite Convention Center. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., with exhibits, coffee & cookies, and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. There will be an update on TIAA activities and plans, followed by a TI speaker, and entertainment. Invitations will be sent out in early October with all the details. In the meantime, hold the date on your calendar for the opportunity to visit with and renew friendships.

Health Benefits Seminar

The Annual TIAA Health Benefits Seminar will be streamed online with a presentation by VIA Health Benefits on Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m. Central Time. When we have the details confirmed, we will send out a message with instructions on how to register for the call and you will receive instructions on how to sign in on the day of the call. As we did last year, we will ask that questions be sent in advance to our TIAA Admin Office and they will be grouped with like questions and sent to VIA to be answered on the call.

UT Presentations at TI Retiree Luncheon, November, 2019

The 50th Anniversary of the University of Texas at Dallas was highlighted at the luncheon by Dr. Hobson Wildenthal, who has served in many capacities for the university since 1992, including President  ad interim. He described the early days of the university and the importance of TI Founders and their wives in its startup and development. TI’s support over the years has also contributed to UT Dallas’ status today as a leading research university, with almost 30,000 students. Dr. Wildenthal then introduced Dr.

Dr. Peter Balyta is President of TI’s Education Technology business and also serves as VP of Academic Engagement & Corporate Citizenship for TI. or in math and science. He spoke with passion about the importance of TI’s support of education. He also gave a summary of TI’s recent business performance based on reported third quarter results and TI’s strategy for creating shareholder value. At the end of his presentation, Dr. Balyta presented the “Retiree Volunteer of the Year Award” to Greg Boydston, who heads Community Involvement for the TIAA.

2019 TI Retiree Luncheon November 14, 2019

The annual TI Retiree Luncheon was held at the Mesquite Convention Center on November 14, with 360 retirees and guests in attendance. During the program, TIAA President, Debi Heaton, recognized those who were involved in the creation of the TIAA in July 1999, including 31 charter members in attendance at the luncheon.
