Last year at the 2019 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, the TI Alumni team had five members and raised $9,891. We are so grateful for your continued contributions to TI Community Involvement. We would like to invite TIAA members to join the TI Alumni Association team in 2020. This year, the 2020 Komen North & West Texas Virtual MORE THAN PINK Walk® will be held as a virtual on-line event due to the Coronavirus. Registration is currently open for the September 12, 2020 walk .
Our TIAA volunteers will be helping KERA by folding and stuffing membership letters for mailing to their potential members. Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 8:30 am. Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at our own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Fitness Center by approximately 1:30 pm. Please register online for this event. We need all to register in order to have sufficient transportation for all.

From feeding seniors who are homebound and hungry, to helping a terminally ill patient and their family deal with life’s final journey – VNA is there. For more than 80 years, VNA has responded to evolving community health needs with innovative client and patient services. The VNA prepares and distributes over 4,000 hot meals to Dallas County senior residents Monday through Friday.
We are asked by TI to volunteer at their annual Meals on Wheels delivery event by forming a team(s) for the biggest TI volunteer event in 2020 on Giving Tuesday, December [TBA], 2020. Because of our participation, TI has committed to deliver to about 1000 homebound clients of the Dallas County Visiting Nurse Association (VNA Meals on Wheels). The event begins in the Texins Fitness Center parking lot at 9:45 am.
Readers 2 Leaders goal is to develop and grow the reading skills of children, age 3-10, in West Dallas. Programs include Reading Buddies, After-School Tutors and Saturday Storytime. Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 8:30 am.
The White Rock Center of Hope is a community coalition of individuals, civic and social organizations, and over 50 Member Churches united to provide emergency aid and steps toward self-sufficiency to their neighbors.
Crossroads Community Services is located off Cockrell Hill Road, which is the former location of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). From their new 75,000 sq. ft. home, they are serving as the southern regional hub for NTFB and expanding their food distribution program.
