Volunteers will assist the Computers for the Blind organization in performing simple tasks to configure donated computers with software and hardware in order to allow blind clients to hear computer information and become proficient in “reading” e-mails, internet information, and financial transactions.
Our TIAA volunteers will be helping KERA by folding and stuffing membership letters for mailing to their potential members. TIAA is teaming up again with active TIers for the Annual TIAA/TI Charity Golf Tournament. The event is scheduled for Monday,September 14, at the Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie, TX, with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m. Because TI has shifted its annual United Way Campaign to the spring, we have moved the Golf Tournament earlier in the year to support the campaign.
From feeding seniors who are homebound and hungry, to helping a terminally ill patient and their family deal with life’s final journey – VNA is there. For more than 80 years, VNA has responded to evolving community health needs with innovative client and patient services. The VNA prepares and distributes over 4,000 hot meals to Dallas County senior residents Monday through Friday.
We are asked by TI to volunteer at their annual Meals on Wheels delivery event by forming a team(s) for the biggest TI volunteer event in 2020 on Giving Tuesday, December [TBA], 2020. Because of our participation, TI has committed to deliver to about 1000 homebound clients of the Dallas County Visiting Nurse Association (VNA Meals on Wheels). The event begins in the Texins Fitness Center parking lot at 9:45 am.

The 9/11 Heroes Run activates and unites communities to honor the sacrifices of those heroes from September 11th and the wars since, to include veterans, active duty, first responder, and families of the fallen. The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K +1M fun run/walk welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages, volunteers, friends, and family. Race proceeds are used to directly support the Travis Manion Foundation's mission to empower our nation's veterans and families of our fallen heroes to develop character in future generations in order to strengthen Communities.
Crossroads Community Services is located off Cockrell Hill Road, which is the former location of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). From their new 75,000 sq. ft. home, they are serving as the southern regional hub for NTFB and expanding their food distribution program.
