2016 TI Retiree Luncheon Set for November 3

Aug 25, 2016

The Annual TI Retiree Luncheon will be held at the Mesquite Convention Center on Thursday, November 3. Doors will open at 9:30 am, with a barbeque lunch served at 11:30 am. The speaker this year will be Ellen Barker, Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President of TI.

The theme of this year’s event is, “Celebrating TI Contributions to the Information Age”. In her comments, Ellen will highlight some of the key technologies developed by TI, which have made possible the widespread growth of IT in today’s world, and will also update TI’s recent business results.

Flu shots will be available at the event. If you are covered by Medicare Part B, please bring your Medicare card for a free flu shot.  If you are not covered by Medicare Part B, you will need to pay $24 for the shot (cash or check) at the event. Please be aware that these flu shots are the Trivalent (3 strains) variety, not the Senior citizen beefed-up shot usually called a High Dose.

Each year the TIAA selects a local non-profit to benefit from donations at the TI Retiree Luncheon. This year we are asking retirees to bring winter clothing items (new or gently used coats, sweaters, caps, and gloves) to help the homeless through the Good Samaritans of Garland. Bins will be available near the doors to deposit the items upon arrival.

Invitation packets to the luncheon will be mailed to TI retirees and other TIAA members in early October. If you do not receive your copy by mid-October, please call the TIAA office at 214-567-8444 and request a copy of the information.

Buses will be available at no charge for those who do not wish to drive to the Mesquite Convention Center, but reservations are required. The buses will leave from Sherman (former Texins Activity Center) at 8:00 am; and from the Expressway Texins Activity Center at 9:15 am. There will also be a bus leaving from Cliff Temple Baptist Church, South Lot at 9:00 am, and from UNT Dallas Campus at 9:15 am.

Don’t miss this opportunity to catch up on the news from Texas Instruments, and the chance to visit with friends and associates.
