Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines last week resulting in thousands of deaths in central Philippines, with more than 650,000 people displaced. An international appeal has been issued by the Philippines, and a relief fund has been established by the American Red Cross.
Although TI facilities and employees in Baguio and Clark were not affected, TI is among the companies leading efforts to raise support.
The TI Foundation will make an immediate $100,000 contribution to the American Red Cross Typhoon Relief Fund for Philippines disaster relief.
In addition, the TI Foundation will match employee and retiree contributions of as much as $100,000 made by Nov. 30 to Red Cross (through the TI microsite or local TI Philippines employee donations). TI retirees may also pay by check. All donations must be received by Nov. 30, 2013. Make donations payable to American Red Cross.

Employees outside the U.S. should scan and email a copy of their donation receipt for their gift to local Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts to tsbhteam@list.ti.com.
"The devastation brought about by the recent Typhoon 'Yolanda/Haiyan' has been widespread and tragic," said Kristine Mangaliag, TI Clark HR director. "Your prayers and generosity will go a long way as our countrymen recover from this calamity."
TI is the largest exporter in the Philippines and has a long presence as a multinational semiconductor company there. TI Philippines (TIPI) has been in operation in Baguio since 1980 and opened the facility at Clark, Pampanga, in 2007.
TI employees in the Philippines have a history of caring for their local community by helping support the education, health and nutrition needs of hundreds of children each year so they can succeed in school.
"TIers' assistance will bring hope to the affected families during these difficult times," said George de Leon, Baguio site employee relations manager.
"When a disaster of this magnitude strikes, TIers are the first to ask how they can help," said Andy Smith, TI corporate philanthropy director.
"Our hearts go out to those who are affected. Partnering with the TI Foundation and American Red Cross establishes an easy process for TIers' donations to be matched quickly and make a greater impact in the recovery efforts."
TIers in the Philippines have already initiated a cash and in-kind donation drive to help victims of the storm. Once the items have been collected, U.S. Air Force personnel will pick up the donations at the Red Cross office and fly them to Manila for shipping to the affected provinces.
