TIAA has reviewed its practice of creating and distributing a large printed newsletter each quarter.
The reality is the vast majority of our communications are now received by members and others via email. It just doesn’t make sense to continue the considerable expense and effort required to carry on this tradition when there is a better way to serve our members who do not have email.
Therefore we are replacing our quarterly printed newsletter with a streamlined monthly printed publication. Members who rely on mail will now receive news and information of upcoming events sooner and more frequently than in the past, and at the same time we will save cost and significant resources.
All content previously published in the quarterly newsletter will be furnished to all of our members – with or without email – at least quarterly if not on a monthly basis.
The initial November News will be mailed to the same mailing list as used for our Third Quarter issue. Members without email who wish to continue receiving this publication need take no action. However, if they do not want a mailed copy, we request that they call our office at 214-567-8444 and request being removed from the mailing list.
A Word to Members with Email
The monthly News will be an excerpt of eNews. Members with email will receive eNews sooner each month, and it will continue to include many clickable links to further information and event sign-up pages. Therefore, we believe members with email will prefer the electronic version. However, any U.S. member that wants to receive the printed News can make that election on our website by following this procedure:
Make sure you are logged in.
- Click on My Account in the upper right corner.
- Scroll down to near the bottom and click on Edit TIAA Member Profile.
- Scroll down to next to last item and change Yes to No.
- Click Save.
