Kevin James Ritchie

Aug 26, 2024

Kevin James Ritchie, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 19, 2024, at the age of 68. His departure has left a void in our hearts, as he was taken from us too soon. Kevin died the same way he lived, on his own terms.

Kevin was born on August 9, 1956, in New York, New York, and raised on Long Island.

He possessed a remarkable ability to solve problems, a strong work ethic, a penchant for doing things his own way, and a delightful sense of humor. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton. Joining Texas Instruments in 1978, Kevin impacted TI and thousands of employees throughout his four-decade-long career.

During Kevin’s 40-year long tenure at TI, he cemented his status as a legend in the semiconductor industry. Known for his strategic, honest, collaborative, and fair nature, Kevin was renowned for his photographic memory and his steadfast commitment to accountability. His leadership was pivotal in the company’s growth and its manufacturing excellence. He will be fondly remembered by the many leaders he mentored and supported.

As a father, Kevin was loving, kind and always sought out ways to demonstrate his affection, often through lighthearted pranks. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maria, and a proud father to Kyle, Eric, and Annalysa. His influence as a father is evident in the values and principles he instilled in them, which will continue to guide them throughout their lives.

A passionate New York sports fan, Kevin enjoyed attending and following numerous Yankees and Giants games. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and was always ready to accept a wager in support of his favorite teams. Despite living in Texas for most of his life, he had a very strong aversion to the Cowboys.

Kevin was a devoted dog lover, a passion clearly reflected in the care he provided for his beloved pets, Midnight, Luna, and Nala. He ensured their lives were filled with affection and indulgence, never allowing them to go without a treat, a belly rub, or a kiss. His deep love for them was evident in every aspect of their lives.

Kevin James Ritchie’s legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he shared. While his presence will be dearly missed, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who had the honor of knowing him.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his children, Kyle, Eric and his wife, Savanna, and Annalysa; his grandchildren, Eyla, Sydney, and Nakoa; his former wife, Cindy Rebel; and a multitude of friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and James Ritchie.

Rest in peace, Mi Corazón. Until I see you again, your Maria.
