Bobbie Jo Mitchell long-time resident of Irving, Texas for 49 years, passed away on June 16, 2024, at the age of ninety-three. She was born to parents Tom and Gladys Cheney on November 17, 1930, in Brownsville, Texas. Bobbie built her career working for Texas Instruments for 30 years until retiring as a Senior Engineer Support Specialist in 1991. She enjoyed volunteering with her local Area Ageing Agency and CASA. Above all Bobbie loved her family and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her father, Tom Cheney; mother, Gladys McCoy; sister, Jeane Day; and grandson, Blake Coston. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Brenda Barry and husband Bob; son, Joel Mitchell and wife Brenda; son, Laurens Mitchell and wife Donna; daughter, Janene Claus and husband Terry; daughter, Janice Coston and husband Chris; son, Richard Mithcell and wife Karen; twelve grandchildren: Susie Worden, Bobby Barry and wife Dori, Melissa Bradley and husband Jason, Jacob Mitchell, Bonnie Hainline and husband Rodney, Tiffany McGregor and husband Kellen, Tyler Claus and wife Ali, Trey Claus, Christin Coston, Kyle Coston and wife Marcella, Jessica Mesinovic and husband Almir, and Hannah Mitchell; fifteen great grandchildren: Hunter Barry and wife Timber, Ian Berry, Avery Barry, Easton Bradley, Bowyn Bradley, Jordan Mitchell, McKenzie Mitchell, Colt Mitchell, Ezekiel Hainline, Broderic Hainline, Josiah Hainline, Ainsleigh Hainline, Brooks Coston, Koleson Coston, and Zara Mesinovic; two great great grandchildren: Paisley Barry, and Walker Barry; brother, Richard Cheney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will miss Bobbie.
Bobbie will be laid to rest at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens 1413 E. Irving Blvd. Irving, TX 75060.
