Golf Tournament Benefited Two Charities

Nov 22, 2016

The 17th Annual TIAA Charity Golf Tournament raised more than $30,000 in donations and pledges for two worthwhile charities: The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and The Senior Source. TI and the Texans Credit Union were underwriters for the tournament, making it possible for 100 percent of the donations to go directly to the charities

Some 100 golfers – including active TIers, retirees, and sponsors – joined the tournament as a kickoff to the TI United Way Campaign. In total, 25 teams participated in the tournament on October 24, a perfect day for golfing at the Woodbridge Golf Club in Wylie, TX.

During lunch, Ellen Barker, Vice President and Chief Information Officer for TI, addressed the golfers in the Opening Ceremony, thanking them for their contributions to the United Way. She also expressed her appreciation to the TIAA for their work in setting up the combined tournament again this year. Cortney Nicolato, President and CEO, The Senior Source, spoke to golfers during the Award Ceremony, thanking them and the TIAA for their support over many years. Words of thanks were also expressed to TI retiree, Courtney Miller, all the volunteers, and the staff of the Woodbridge Golf Club for their excellent support of the tournament. Courtney Miller, right, tournament co-chair, presented a ceremonial check for $18,710 to Cortney Nicolato of The Senior Source.
