Gary and Linda Stopani decided to get involved with the TI Alumni Association once they realized the variety of activities that TIAA offers. Gary served as TIAA treasurer from July, 2010 to June 2012. Gary lived his formative years in the frozen tundra of Rochester, NY. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1978 with a BS degree in Mechanical/Industrial engineering.  He interviewed with Oil Well, a division of U.S. Steel, and accepted their offer so the family moved to Garland, TX.  Gary eventually came to work for TI in DSEG as a tooling engineer and over the next 25 years he had assignments in manufacturing and finance in the Defense business, Information Systems & Services, Corporate and Semiconductor. During his time in DSEG, he earned his MBA from SMU in 1985. Gary was Church Treasurer for six years and he and Linda have been active on several committees at the King of Glory Lutheran Church. The Stopanis have been married 38 years and both retired in 2008. They have one son, David, who lives in Longview, TX with his wife, Tracy and 8-year-old daughter Claire. Gary volunteers with Dallas Ramps and builds ramps for those in need.
