Dolphin Heights Garden

We will return once again this year to the Dolphin Heights Community near Fair Park where we will help Willie Hall and Anna Hill clean up the garden from this summer’s planting and share in what harvest is left. Anna Hill, Neighborhood Association President, Founder of the garden and Organizer/Teacher/Mentor of the Dolphin Heights after school program and Willie, retired Medical Examiner at Parkland, will share more stories with us about history of Dallas and what we can do to help local communities like Dolphin Heights.

Shoes for Orphan Souls

Orphans and at-risk children worldwide receive new shoes and socks from Shoes for Orphan Souls. TIAA volunteers help process either donated shoes or toiletries kits. The activities include sorting and banding shoes, counting and packing shoes in shipping boxes, and kitting and packing toiletries. Volunteers will meet at Texins Activity Center at 8:30 a.m. and ride a bus to the climate-controlled warehouse. Afterwards, we will have lunch at our own expense and return to Texins about 1:30 p.m.
