Metrocrest Services


Metrocrest Services provides services including a food pantry, help for seniors, financial assistance, school supplies, etc., that leads to self-sufficiency and independence for individuals in Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison and Coppell.  They are supported through community donors and sponsors. 

USO at DFW Airport

The USO serves personnel in all branches of the military: active duty, National Guard, reservists, retirees and authorized family members. All services provided at the USO DFW are free and are made possible by donations from individuals, companies and organizations.  Please join us at the Texins Activity Center to board a Senior Source bus at 9:30 am. Volunteers will deliver, sort and organize donated items collected by TIAA into the USO storage shelves ready for distribution to members of the military visiting the USO.

Metrocrest Services Trip, September, 2015

Eleven TIAA members participated in a Community Involvement event at the Metrocrest Service's warehouse on September 21. Metrocrest Services, located in Farmers Branch, provides a diverse number of programs to seniors, including home-delivered meals, minor home repairs, food pantry canned & dry goods, and transportation to appointments. Other services provided for local disadvantaged residents include rent and utility bill assistance, financial counseling, medical aids, case management, seasonal programs for distribution of school supplies,

Texas Discovery Gardens, State Fair of Texas

Would you like to be a volunteer at the Texas Discovery Gardens? If they offered you a free T-shirt, free parking, a free Texas State Fair ticket, and a 10% discount in their gift store – all for volunteering only 3-1/2 hours at the facility during the State Fair – would you sign up? That's over $40 worth of benefits just for working one shift either in the morning, early afternoon or late afternoon. The Texas Discovery Gardens is looking for individuals or groups to volunteer during the Texas State Fair on any day between September 25 and October 18 to work in the beauty of the Butterfly H

Crossroads Community Services

Crossroads has two primary goals: 1) To help ensure that all people in Dallas County have ready access to nourishing foods; 2) To provide life-skills education that can help reduce obesity in impoverished areas.  They do this work because no one, especially children, should have to experience the physical and emotional impact of missing multiple meals.

The Senior Source Headquarters

The Senior Source works to provide life-changing services for older adults in the greater Dallas area at all income levels, from the most active to the very frail.  Their programs are very diverse and include these services:

Texas Discovery Garden

Share your interest and enthusiasm about gardening while you learn more about plants and insects by volunteering at Texas Discovery Gardens, located within Fair Park, Dallas, Tx. Volunteers usually help teach school children, work with plant propagation, and assist with office tasks, marketing and PR.
