This policy will be revised when needed and reviewed in detail at least annually by the TIAA CIO for consistency between policy and current practice.

Overview

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is appointed by the TIAA President and is responsible for TIAA’s website, database design and implementation, and other information technology.

Duties

Implement website-related postings/links including:

  • Monthly eNews,
  • Monthly eCalendar, 
  • Slide show,
  • Community Involvement, and
  • Travel event updates (check Word inputs for accuracy).

Quarterly newsletter PDF conversions

Maintain webpages, including:

  • Seminar presentation archive,
  • Health benefits info,
  • Current officer contact info,
  • Vendor services “special offers”, and
  • Books by TI authors.

Maintain member database, including:

  • TI HR quarterly updates,
  • Postal and emailing lists (quarterly newsletters, annual retiree luncheon and business meeting, periodic email “blasts”), and
  • Query request responses.

Produce email “blast” announcements using email services, such as iContact.

Work with TIAA volunteers to reconcile bounced emails

Online Support of

  • Voting for annual On My Own Time Art Show entries,
  • TI Health Benefits updates (normally, Kerry Miller),
  • TI United Way campaigns (normally, Andy Smith),
  • Other TI support programs (e.g., Senior Source, Tsunami Relief Fund, and UTD programs)

Respond to email inquiries addressed to webmaster@tialumni.org.

Support Admin on website- and database-related questions.

Maintain annual renewals for hosting service and domain names (tialumni.org and tialumni.com).

Monitor PayPal member registration/renewal transactions, process quarterly EFT’s and provide report to TIAA Treasurer and Texans Association.

Maintain Amazon.com associates account.

Be available to consult and handle IT-related requests in a manner to enhance TIAA’s reputation as an easy place to do TIAA-related business.
