The annual TI retiree luncheon took place on October 4 at the Mesquite Convention Center as we recognized more than 50 years of TI innovation in consumer electronics.
Our TI speaker, Tracy Hamilton, updated us on TI’s strategy in Education Technology (Ed Tech), with its increased emphasis on software and robotics. Tracy has worked at TI since 2005 and is a leader on Ed Tech’s Product Development Team where she is responsible for the Program Management and Product Definition functions. She started her association with TI in 1988 when she was named a TI Scholar, and then worked for a summer in TI’s former defense business on heat-seeking missile technology.
We showcased ways in which TI’s education and robotics technology is being used in college recruiting, as well as in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs. Several members of TI’s New Employees Initiative also joined us again this year.
The doors to the center opened at 9:30 a.m. and lunch was served at 11:30 a.m. In addition to lunch, the famous warm cookies and coffee were available in the morning. After lunch, we were entertained by the “Big Beats” band.
