Tom Keener, the Cultural Arts Manager of the Allen Public Library, has invited TIers – whether active, retired, or former TIers – to attend a presentation by Dr. Darwin Payne of his new book, “No Small Dreams: J. Erik Jonsson – Texas Visionary”. The program is set for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 21 at the Allen Public Library, 300 N. Allen, Allen, TX, 75013. It is sponsored by Bach to Books; the program is free and no reservations are required.
Many TI retirees may remember Ron Keener, who worked in TI’s Defense Business for many years and later was head of Patent Licensing. Tom is Ron’s son, and he has a lot of fond memories of TI and TIers, and is excited to be presenting this program.
TIAA hosted a reception last October for Dr. Payne and this will be an opportunity for those who missed it to attend. Also, since the program is being held in the evening, this will make it possible for more of our former TIers to attend.
Dr. Payne was made an honorary member of the TIAA at the Annual TI Retiree Luncheon last November, in recognition of his years of research on Erik Jonsson, a TI Founder and former Mayor of Dallas.
