SUMMARY:Frontiers of Flight Museum
DESCRIPTION:6911 Lemmon Ave, Dallas Love Field\nExperience the stories of aviation and space flight – from Leonardo da Vinci, to the Wright Brothers, to the spacecraft of the twenty-first century – all in one museum.\nThis 100,000 sq. ft. building holds over 30 aircraft and space vehicles including a full-size model of the 1903 Wright Flyer. Artifacts from the airship Hindenburg and other giant dirigibles are in one gallery. Highlights about Charles Lindbergh, Bessie Coleman (the first licensed African-American aviator) Richard Byrd, Amelia Earhart, “Jimmy” Doolittle and many others are in a separate gallery. In the war gallery, scale models of military aircraft tell the stories of America’s major conflicts in the Aviation Age. The Apollo 7 spacecraft and the only moon rock on display in North Texas reside in another gallery along with a full-size reproduction of Sputnik I flying overhead. The Heart of Our History gallery details the story of Dallas’s own Southwest Airlines and features a complete Boeing 737-300 aircraft which is accessible to the public.  \nWe will spend 90 minutes touring the Museum so wear comfortable shoes. Our bus will leave at 9:30 am, we will have a docent-guided tour at 10:00 am, eat lunch on our own at                 and return at 2:00 pm.
