SUMMARY:Crossroads Community Services
DESCRIPTION:4500 S Cockrell Hill Rd., Dallas, TX 75236 \nCrossroads Community Services is located off Cockrell Hill Road, which is the former location of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB). They are serving as the southern regional hub for NTFB and expanding their food distribution program.  Crossroads fulfills its mission through their programs and services. They provide nutritious food into the hands of low-income neighbors through their distribution network and in-house pantry. Each month, Crossroads serves approximately 1,000 residents living in Dallas through their Community Market. And through 150 distribution partners, they provide food assistance to communities throughout Dallas, Ellis, and Navarro counties.  In 2025, they will move from distributing 16,000,000 pounds to 26,000,000 pounds of food.  In order to make their goal, they will need donations to increase transportation, racking, equipment, and staff.\nOur TIAA volunteers will fill boxes with nonperishable food items for later distribution to clients.  We may also be asked to help clients fill their grocery carts, restock shelves with boxes and canned goods, and/or sort items looking for past-due dates.  Please join us at the Texins Fitness Center to board a Senior Source bus at 8:15 am.  Afterwards, we will have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense) and arrive back to the Texins Fitness Center around 1:30 pm.  Please register online for this event. We need all to register in order to have sufficient transportation for all. \nAlso, if you have not volunteered with TIAA in the past 12 months, please complete the volunteer form for our partner Senior Source at the following link PRIOR TO VOLUNTEER DATE. Thank you.             \n                                       https://www.tfaforms.com/4804645\n
