June 19 TIAA Seminar on Scams and Fraud If it is in the news today, it’s likely to be in a scammer’s bag of tricks tomorrow. This TIAA-sponsored seminar will give important information to keep you from becoming a victim of scams, schemes and identity theft. Knowledge is power; so learn the pitch – don’t make the con man rich! The Texas Attorney General’s office says that identity theft has reached epic proportions, so don’t let bad things happen to your good name! The seminar will take place on Saturday, June 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. in conference rooms 1-2 in the Texins Activities Center on the Expressway site. Come hear Lynda Ender, Director of the AGE (Advocacy Group for Elders) Program at The Senior Source, discuss Medicare Fraud and the Latest Scams. David Leopard, RSVP Volunteer and Former FBI Agent, will discuss Identity Theft. To register for the seminar, call the TIAA office at 214-567-8444, press 2, and leave your name and the name of anyone else attending with you, plus your telephone number. Seating is limited, so early registration is suggested. In Memoriam TIAA has learned of the recent deaths of the following retired TIers and/or TIAA members: Joseph Caruana, Ivan L.
