New TIAA Officers Elected At the Annual Meeting held at the Old Red Courthouse on May 21, the following officers were elected unanimously for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008: Ronnie Brandenburg, President; Tom Boedecker, Executive Vice President; Ellen McKee, Secretary; and Larry James, Treasurer. State of TIAA 2008 Outgoing President Lewis McMahan gave a recap of the achievements and activities of TIAA during the past year at the meeting. Templeton Tribute Also at the Annual Meeting, Lewis McMahan was presented with a letter from Rich Templeton, Chairman, President and CEO of Texas Instruments, thanking him for his leadership of TIAA over the last two years. The text of that letter is posted at www.tialumni.org/2008/. Remember TIAA’s New Telephone Number TIAA now has a new telephone number, 214-567-8444. TI is phasing in an upgraded telephone service on the Expressway Site and the Texins Activity Center where we office was outfitted with entirely new equipment and new telephone numbers on May 21, 2008. Callers to our old number will receive a recorded message informing them of the new number for six months. Upcoming Events Reminder Intechra Recycling Tour, Carrollton – Tuesday, June 10. Tour this state-of-the-art computer and electronics disposition, refurbishing and recycling center (1-1/2 hours). Bring your obsolete electronics equipment for disposal. Have lunch at Babe’s – a family-style restaurant serving fried chicken, chicken-fried steak and other home-cooking favorites (at your own expense). Bus leaves Texins parking lot at 10 a.m. and returns to Texins Activity Center at 2 p.m. The bus ride is $7.50 per person for TIAA members and $9 per person for nonmembers.
