Engibous Retirement Activities

TI Alumni are invited to join in activities commemorating the retirement of TI Chairman Tom Engibous. A gift book containing memories and photos is being prepared for presentation at a special retirement party April 11 in the South Campus (Forest Lane) Cafeteria. For information on how to contribute to the book or to attend the party, see www.tialumni.org/engibous/. As seating for the party is limited, it will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Upcoming Events

April 16 (Wednesday) – Antiques Show-and-Tell Event
TIAA Retiree Bunch (formerly Texins Retiree Club) will hold an Antiques Show-and-Tell event at 10 a.m. at the Texins Activity Center, Rooms C1 & C2. Sharon Gulley, owner of Dallas Estate Sales, will evaluate and discuss items brought by attendees. Many of us have something around the house that you have wondered about and this is a chance to get an expert opinion. Ms. Gulley will need a photo of the item along with a short paragraph about any markings (usually at the bottom), where the item was obtained, how much was paid for it, etc. The fee for this service is $5.00 for each antique. All information must be submitted to Ronnie Brandenburg, 972-279-4075 or jbrb66@sbcglobal.net, by April 9. A covered-dish lunch will follow the program and everyone is asked to bring a veggie, a salad, or a dessert.

April 29 (Tuesday) – Scam and Fraud Seminar
Presented by Lynda Ender, Senior Source, at Plano Centre, 2000 E. Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are needed so that we can make sure that we have enough seating space. Register at 972-995-8393 or admin@tialumni.org.

May 15 (Thursday) – Theatre Three in the Quadrangle
Attend the 7:30 p.m. performance of “Mid-Life, the Crisis Musical,” a comedy review about life’s middle-aged gains and losses. Before the show, enjoy dinner at Dream Café at your own expense. Depart Texins Activity Center by bus at 5:30 p.m. and return at 10 p.m. Bus transportation and show ticket cost is $30 per person for TIAA members or $33 for nonmembers.
